Technology leaders are shifting from experimental AI deployments to a model of integrated cyber resilience as digital transformation accelerates across the Indian enterprise landscape.

India’s enterprise sector is undergoing a fundamental shift as organizations across financial services, manufacturing, and retail integrate artificial intelligence into their core operations. This transition from experimental pilot programs to mission-critical business strategy necessitates a parallel evolution in how firms approach cybersecurity and infrastructure stability.
Rishi Mehta, Group Chief Information Security Officer at HCLTech, noted that the industry has moved past the phase of speculative AI exploration. He emphasized that AI is now deeply embedded in decision-making processes, requiring a shift in how security teams view their defensive posture.
Hemanth Kumar M, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Angel One, described this shift as the democratization of data. He argued that AI tools now empower both technical and non-technical staff to leverage information, which in turn expands the potential attack surface that security teams must monitor.
Greesh Verma Jairath, Vice President and Head of Enterprise IT Infrastructure and Cloud Management at Mphasis, highlighted the necessity of moving beyond isolated computing environments. The integration of AI into security operations themselves—often referred to as AI for security—allows teams to process massive volumes of telemetry to identify anomalies that would otherwise remain hidden. Rishi Mehta suggested that this capability offers a significant advantage in detecting threats within complex, hybrid cloud environments, effectively turning data into a defensive asset.
Hemanth Kumar M emphasized that trust in these systems is built on reliability, particularly in financial services where even minor lapses in availability carry significant consequences. He stated that resilience must be treated as a core component of the infrastructure rather than an auxiliary service, ensuring that customers maintain uninterrupted access to their investments.

Leadership expectations are also changing as the technical and business domains converge. Suresh Devrangadi noted that traditional project management models are being replaced by hands-on leadership styles that demand continuous learning and a deep understanding of how technical risks translate into business impact.
Vishak Raman concluded that cybersecurity is a collaborative effort requiring alignment between technology, legal, and regulatory teams. He encouraged organizations to view the current wave of AI adoption as a catalyst for simplifying operations through integrated, platform-based security rather than continuing the cycle of adding specialized, siloed tools.
Future progress will likely depend on the ability of organizations to link cyber risk directly to measurable business outcomes. As these technologies mature, the focus for enterprise leaders will remain on balancing the rapid deployment of AI with the necessity of maintaining a secure, auditable, and highly resilient digital foundation.
