Agentic AI, in Cadence’s vision, offers a path to autonomous design, orchestrating and optimizing various stages of the design process.

The company’s “3-layer cake” architecture for its AI solutions—accelerated compute and data as the base, principal simulation and optimization as the critical middle layer, and agentic AI as the top—underscores a holistic strategy.

This quarter saw the full rollout of its AI Super Agents: AgentStack, the foundational framework; ChipStack for RTL design and verification; ViraStack for analog and custom design; and InnoStack for digital implementation and signoff.

These solutions, designed to span the entire chip design flow, create a continuous learning platform, promising to materially expand EDA (Electronic Design Automation) consumption by invoking simulation, verification, and implementation engines at unprecedented scales.

Strategic collaborations further cemented Cadence’s position.

A partnership with Google aims to optimize the ChipStack AI Super Agent using Gemini on Google Cloud, leveraging large language model (LLM) reasoning with scalable cloud compute for next-generation chip development.

Simultaneously, an expanded partnership with NVIDIA focuses on joint AI and robotics advancement, accelerating engineering workflows across chip design, physical AI systems, and hyperscale AI factories.

The Intellectual Property (IP) business grew 22% year-over-year, propelled by demand from AI, HPC (High-Performance Computing), and automotive sectors.

The increasing complexity of advanced node designs and chiplet architectures fuels a strong demand for Cadence’s differentiated Star IP portfolio.

Notably, the company secured a record IP deal with a leading global foundry, underscoring its leadership at the most advanced process nodes.

Core EDA revenue also grew 18%, driven by increasing proliferation of Cadence’s solutions at market-shaping customers.
